Brown is Brown

As I’m finishing the studio project, I needed paint for the trim. When we built the studio I painted the bathroom window trim a brown, which matched the tile accent perfectly. Now that we have added a shower, I have more trim to paint. All of the paint from past projects are in the loft of the shed; all paint except for the brown.

Brown is brown, right? Wrong. There is a red brown, and black brown, yellow brown and middle of the road brown. I chose a yellowish brown and once home and next to the tile, it was obvious it has a red pigment in it. I didn’t go yellow enough and the window brown was perfect. Did I mention it was so perfect it blended right into the accent tile? Well, the new brown does not and because the shower/ceiling trim is red, when I needed yellow, I had to paint the window trim for a uniformed look.

I know it is not the brown I would have preferred, but it is brown and no one else will know… Except for those who read this post.

All the trim is caulked and painted. It looks awesome, I think.

Two days later I am in the pump house getting something for Devil and find a quart of paint in a cabinet. Confused, I pulled it out to read the label that has written on it “studio bathroom trim”. I just shook my head and put it back. Nice job. LOL

Brown is not brown.
