    Protesting Day Light Savings Time

I want to know what needs to happen in order to veto this ridiculous part of our history. It’s not just the states, it’s the world. There’s no reason for it. Granted, it was a good solution to save on energy, when electricity was new and hard to come by. It made sense when people were pinching pennies to put food on the table and when we needed to save every bit of energy we could. It’s been awhile since I’ve looked into it, but I’m fairly certain there is no need for it in today’s society. Let’s be honest, we are not a society that saves on energy. There’s…

    Let’s Make a Stand!

You guys know my love of Thanksgiving, so you know my disdain for the retailers. I won’t get into my two-decade-long hate for corporations and their disrespect of what the holiday’s really stand for. What I will reiterate is that black Friday has always come the day after Thanksgiving. It’s been like that for as long as anyone can remember. Although, the first actual black Friday dates back to the 70’s, but didn’t become so popular until about 12 years ago. With that said, I’m of the opinion that we’ve been conditioned to accept the crazy sales and the absurd hours and crowds this day brings. Are the sales really…

    What’s Your Season?

We all have a favorite time of year that makes us the happiest. Whether it’s because of memories, the weather or just because of the month, we all have our treasured season. I want to know what your season is. Mine would be the fall. The air is cleaner, fresher and full of promise. The leaves change colors, they fall, the wind blows and the cold fronts roll in out of no where. The skies turn grey and there’s a chill in the air. The promise that the fall season brings just makes me happy! It begins early October and ends shortly after Thanksgiving, which, incidentally, is the best day…

    Naked Snow Dance

We, as a group, need to ban together for our friend in the mountains. He loves winter, except last year that season arrived, but left out the cold. This year so far it’s still in the 80’s when it should be 40 degree’s colder. I think Mother Nature is hating on MtnMan who loves freezing temps, even when he’s out trapping. He is a true mountain man through and through! Last year I was so disappointed for him, but kept hoping he’d get a sudden surge of cold blast from our northern neighbors, but no such luck. In fact, it was colder in Texas some days… that’s just not right!…

I’m Just Here For Cat Food

Is October the “hand-out” month? I thought it was in the spring, but maybe they’re so successful in the spring that they’ve gotten greedy and want to over take the fall, right before the holiday’s. I was at Tractor Supply (TSC) for cat food. It turns out the Monsters share their food with every animal that visits their domain. Domestic and wild, alike. Although, I thought about letting them starve today, I couldn’t, in good conscience, do that. I do have a heart, you know. lol. Okay, so I walk into TSC and I have to walk right past a table, with a covered tent with two older kids. They…

    Fuck You, AT&T

I pay for two internet providers because I live in the country. The AT&T system is line of sight and the other is satellite. Neither one are dependable, so having two makes sense. However, a few months ago AT&T started blocking their customers from using certain sites. It’s not any specific sites, it’s all dependent on how much bandwidth any one customer uses, and because I’m always on cam, I’ve been flagged by them. I haven’t called them because I’m not a direct customer of AT&T. My provider buys usage from their tower, but let’s face it, even if I call them they’re going to tell me, “we, as a…

    Let’s Give Her a Name

Several months ago I posted about the grey kitten that found its way into the Monster’s world. I was hoping she’d move on, but to my dismay she has claimed this as her home. In the beginning she would run for safety any time I walked outside, or she’d stand on a rock, which became her lookout perch, until she was certain no person was on the deck where the food bowl was. It didn’t take her long to start playing with the Monster’s. They don’t mind her one bit, which is when I decided I shouldn’t be bothered feeding another  mouth. If they’ve accepted her, I can, too. She…

    Progress Has Been Made

Last week I spent all of my spare time on the kitchen, which left me know time for anything else. I’m very happy with the kitchen, but it has left me exhausted, to say the least. I still have a few odds and ends to complete before it’s finished, but that will all come together in the next week, or so. Now to catch up on this blog I’ve shamefully neglected. What to talk about? Um. Well. How about the Blood Moon? Did you wake up just to experience it in its grandeur, or maybe you were on your way to work and it brightened your day, just a little…

    *Cheers* Happy Birthday, Dwwindsor!

I would like to lift my glass to you, sir. Happy Birthday! I know you’re traveling and have been under the weather and in no mood to celebrate, but I hope that changes today! It’s a day that should absolutely be celebrated! I hope that whatever you choose to do, that you enjoy it and it  makes you smile… and that does not mean working, taking phone calls and hiding out in your hotel room. That’s for yesterday and tomorrow, not today! Happy Birthday, Dwwindsor!!!
