    I Have Made a Decision

I am going to find and buy a piece of antique furniture for a spare bedroom. I really love the old styles and simplicity of yesteryears, and most vintage pieces were strongly built with solid wood, not particle scraps pressed together by machine. I do not know what the piece is just yet, but I will find it soon and then take a picture for you. lol.

    Easter; Pascha; Resurrection Sunday

Regardless of whether or not you believe, most people celebrate Easter Sunday with food, festivities and hiding eggs from the little ones and watching them go on a hunt in their Sunday best.  Today marks the oldest tradition in the Christian church and is on the first Sunday after the first full moon of the spring equinox.  I enjoy Easter because it is a sign of a fresh season, new growth and I can wear white pants again, if I so choose.  I hope that you all have a beautiful Sunday, a warm and happy Easter and that you are doing what makes you smile the most.

    Spring Blooms . . .

. . . are signs that a new season is near and life has been cleansed and is anew. Last fall I shoved 500 bulbs into the ground and let the winter freeze them and turn them into what I hope will be beautiful blooms all through the spring and into the summer. It was a mild winter, but it was still below freezing and cold under ground enough for the bulbs to have season long blooms! At least, that is my hope. The colder the winter, the better then bloom. I am not sure where I planted what, so it is going to be a surprise of bouquets all…

    And, Cancelled.

Well, my Texas trip was cancelled at the last minute, which was not a total shock, but has changed my plans for next week. I have decided to still take this weekend and spend it offline. I need a break and it will do me some good to get out of the house. I might even  make it to a few antique shops this afternoon, I have not decided yet.  I will be online Monday and we will have our normal schedule, with the exception of the VNA show. I was going to move it back to the original time slot, but I have tweeted and blogged the change, and…

Buy Me Some Peanuts and Cracker Jack

Whether you are a baseball fan, or not, you have to admit that opening day signifies that spring is right around the corner. Hell, for some I believe summer has already arrived, however, for many winter was late on arrival and now spring has been delayed. Despite all of that, the opening day of Baseball means that spring has sprung and it is time to start planning the garden. Or, at least, I hope that I can do that soon. But, if I cannot, I am just as thrilled because having an actual winter has done so much to lift my spirits, or maybe it is the distance that has…

    Next Week on Cam

Streamate is having a contest that will begin Saturday night and it runs through the entire week, and it is one that is worth my time, which is a welcome change. That just means that I will spend almost all of my time on SM, and not so much on Skype and other avenues.  I will be online Saturday, starting at 8p EST, with a break for dinner and then a couple hours after. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday will be spent all day online, and then back after dinner.  The member show’s will be as follows: Monday – VNA 11p EST  Tuesday – Streamate 11p EST (normally it is 8p…

    The 64 Picks

Last year I joined Dawn Marie’s football pool and had so much fun guessing the winners that I wanted to extend my amusement into March Madness. It seemed easier for me to pick teams last year because I had an article that discussed each team and their weaknesses, which aided in my guessing strategy. This year, that was not possible because all I could find were articles from sports nuts and columnists writing as though their only readers are well versed in basketball jargon. Now my brain hurts trying to decipher who is who, from the college name to the mascots, and who is going to be “seeded” and who…

    A Family Bond

It is well known that I want an elephant. They truly should be admired, loved and worshipped. Here is something that one of my Ele sites posted this morning and it is worth a share: They say that nothing is more important to an elephant than family. Elephants are well-known for their complex, multi-layered social networks led by an older female. Known as the matriarch, these wise female elephants carry with them a lifetime of inherited wisdom that helps the whole herd survive; where to find water, where to find food, when to avoid danger. While studies of African elephants show the clear dominance of the matriarch in a herd,…

This Needs to Stop! ! !

Yesterday’s adulting has shoved its way into my today and it seriously needs to stop! WHY can’t each day be a NO PHONE CALL policy day? Seriously? I do just fine online and via text, there is no reason that we cannot devise an insurance plan without a phone call. lol. Just let me pay $50 a month and don’t tell me it won’t cover any doctor visits or real life needs. Just do something on your computer screen and make it happen.
