I’m waiting on my girlfriend to pick me up for our weekend away. I’ve never gone away on a girl’s weekend and I’m so excited that I have a friend whom I’d want to spend a weekend with. I’m so fortunate to have Jo in my life. She is everything sweet and fun, with amazing energy and no negativity. Spring is a beautiful time of year, especially with constant rainfall and nice temps. Unfortunately, along with a healthy spring comes the pollen and crap that is associated with allergies. In central Texas we have this brown stuff that falls from the trees, along with green dust. No one knows what that brown stuff is called. I call it “brown stuff”, one of our friends calls it the squiggly stuff and other people call it crap. Devil has a bunch of girlfriends. Some are “just friends”, others are drinking buddies and a few are intimate girlfriends. I know them all and sometimes I find them in my house. lol. This spring is terrible for allergies, and apparently I have them now. Ack! My voice is finally coming back, but my ears are so plugged that I hear an echo each time I talk. That’s annoying. This morning I did a few hours of yard work, which was pretty amazing, but when I was finished, my eyes were itching. I looked in the medicine cabinet for Claritin, but found Benadryl Allergy first, so without further thought, I took one. An hour later I was in the studio and took a 20 minute nap. So, that just happened. I won’t be taking those again!

I had a virus over the weekend and even though I feel better, it caused laryngitis, which could last for a few weeks. ACK! The doctor gave me a steroid shot, which helped almost immediately. I went from absolutely no voice to having a whisper in no time. lol. Today I am very hoarse, but it’s improving. Since I couldn’t sleep last night, I watched a lot of boring TV and dozed a few times, for about 15 minutes at a time. I was outside working in the garden by 830a and then did all of our laundry, cleaned the house and studio and still managed to help Devil with…

Ack! I hate going to the doctor’s office, but after losing my voice last night and drinking a ton of Dayquil and honey, Devil decided maybe that wasn’t enough. After sitting in the very small waiting room for 45 minutes, I finally got called back. The nurse weighed me, took my blood pressure, temperature and asked me a ton of questions.
