    Goddammit, Devil!

We have a new neighbor that has just moved in next to us. The new guy caught me outside doing yard work several months ago, and then Devil shortly after they signed the papers. He’s a very nice military man who is definitely a talker. He’s been in touch with Devil and would like to have a few beers, now that they’re moved in and unpacked. That sounded good, we’ll go to their place, keep them out of ours. lol. I’m a neighborly neighbor. Last week while I was mowing Devil was hatching a plan. A plan to invite more people over. The only prerequisite is that they live on…

    Today’s Costume Choice

It would appear that my lack of planning for Halloween week of hell was a fail from the beginning. Okay, so I have this huge plastic crate full of costumes. Some of which I’ve worn to parties, others Devil found just for cam. It makes sense that I’d decide to do a week of costumes, since I have an abundance of choices. What doesn’t make sense is that I wouldn’t try them on first, because it’s been years since I’ve worn most of them. And, let’s be honest, I’m not 105 pounds today, it’s more like +25 – before you tell me I’m not fat, I appreciate that, but that’s not the…

The Last Week. My Last Chance.

Do you guys remember last month when I posted a thread regarding October and costumes? I vowed to wear a costume once a week. Not the same costume, mind you, but a different one each week. Yep. That was a pipe dream. I don’t know what it is about costumes, but they freak me the fuck out. Maybe it’s because I feel fake or goofy, or because I actually look goofy. Maybe it’s because they take a creative mind to actually pull it off. I don’t know, but I was that person who said I would do something and then didn’t do it. In fact, it took me half of…

    Bondo vs. Duct Tape

There was a discussion about duct tape today, and, Dwwindsor, being Dwwindsor, said he thought bondo was the way to go when it comes to cars. However, you can cut a car in half and duct tape that bastard back together and it’ll function. I have two pieces of evidence to back that up. First of all, WLTNBN saw it done on Myth Busters and it worked. TRUE STORY. Second of all, I have witnessed it with my own eyeballs. When I was a kid, there was this lady named Bunny, and she was the town crazy lady. My mom loved her. LOL. Of course, it could be said that…

    Members Totally Redeemed Themselves

I cannot expect members to always give me their time, especially when I offer so many shows each week. However, with that said, you guys have spoiled me and it’s rare that the attendance is low. Last Monday was a first. I started the VNA show without any of my fella’s. I didn’t freak out for the first minute, but then five minutes in I was starting to get a little unnerved. Don’t get me wrong, the VNA guys are always gracious and kind, but not usually chatty. So, the first several minutes I was talking to myself, asking the same question- “How was your weekend?” ….. “sooooo…. did you…

    Reminder: VNA Show

This is just a reminder that we’re coming up on the last Sunday of the month, which means I’ll be on VNALive.com at 4p EST this Sunday. I’d love for you to join me for Sunday Funday. Let’s catch up and enjoy the rest of the weekend together.

    Protesting Day Light Savings Time

I want to know what needs to happen in order to veto this ridiculous part of our history. It’s not just the states, it’s the world. There’s no reason for it. Granted, it was a good solution to save on energy, when electricity was new and hard to come by. It made sense when people were pinching pennies to put food on the table and when we needed to save every bit of energy we could. It’s been awhile since I’ve looked into it, but I’m fairly certain there is no need for it in today’s society. Let’s be honest, we are not a society that saves on energy. There’s…

    Let’s Make a Stand!

You guys know my love of Thanksgiving, so you know my disdain for the retailers. I won’t get into my two-decade-long hate for corporations and their disrespect of what the holiday’s really stand for. What I will reiterate is that black Friday has always come the day after Thanksgiving. It’s been like that for as long as anyone can remember. Although, the first actual black Friday dates back to the 70’s, but didn’t become so popular until about 12 years ago. With that said, I’m of the opinion that we’ve been conditioned to accept the crazy sales and the absurd hours and crowds this day brings. Are the sales really…

    What’s Your Season?

We all have a favorite time of year that makes us the happiest. Whether it’s because of memories, the weather or just because of the month, we all have our treasured season. I want to know what your season is. Mine would be the fall. The air is cleaner, fresher and full of promise. The leaves change colors, they fall, the wind blows and the cold fronts roll in out of no where. The skies turn grey and there’s a chill in the air. The promise that the fall season brings just makes me happy! It begins early October and ends shortly after Thanksgiving, which, incidentally, is the best day…

    Naked Snow Dance

We, as a group, need to ban together for our friend in the mountains. He loves winter, except last year that season arrived, but left out the cold. This year so far it’s still in the 80’s when it should be 40 degree’s colder. I think Mother Nature is hating on MtnMan who loves freezing temps, even when he’s out trapping. He is a true mountain man through and through! Last year I was so disappointed for him, but kept hoping he’d get a sudden surge of cold blast from our northern neighbors, but no such luck. In fact, it was colder in Texas some days… that’s just not right!…
