Meatloaf
As you know I have been trying to master meatloaf for a couple years now. It is not something Devil likes, so he doesn’t have the desire to make it, which is fine. It gives me something to strive for when he is out of town. After four unsuccessful and very life shattering disappointments, I swore off on ever making another meatloaf but Dawn Marie sent me a recipe for the crock pot that looked so amazing! I cut it in half and cooked it for 3.5 hours instead of the 7 it called for. It turned out so moist and delicious that I might have three dinners tonight! Meatloaf…

The Loner
Predita had three in her original litter, two being George and Gizmo and one was a loner. She never got a name because she was rarely seen, nor did she socialize with the others. With the rest gone, she was the last stray that I needed to catch, but since she was never around, I wasn’t sure how to go about setting a trap. I decided to stop feeding our cats outside for a few days and yesterday I noticed she was sitting a the empty food bowl waiting for me. When I walked up on the deck she ran behind some plants, but didn’t vacate the area. I set…

Quiet Home. No Visitors.
Devil is going to Vegas on Thursday and I am looking forward to having a quiet house, with no chaos and no company. It is going to be four days of no one stopping by for a beer, or wanting to walk over for a visit in the afternoon. I am not leaving the house until I have to pick him up on Monday and it is going to be fucking awesome! If someone knocks, I will not answer the door. I am going to be a recluse and I will be good at it! Okay, if Joann or Glenda knock, I will answer the door. But that is it.

Tyson Found a Surprise
The other day I heard Tyson barking, but it wasn’t his normal alert that someone, or an unwanted animal, has breached the premises. It was kind of a curious, yet playful bark; the same sound he makes when the squirrels are teasing him. I look out the window and he is popping his head up and down, ears flying and he is happy excited. Dora is just a spectator. I walked outside and I could see something smacking him in the face and he was just happy to be playing, which reassured me it was not a snake. Once I got into the pen I could tell that it was…

Farewell Perdita and Brood
In the spring of 2014 Perdita found our home and never left. She was tiny, scared and alone. I always wondered where her litter mates were, but she always remained as the sole “lost one”. The Monsters were just a year old and were new to the outdoors, exploring and curious, but also territorial. Territorial except with Perdita, who followed them around like a shadow. She never grew much bigger than she was and always looked small compared to the others. Within a year she had produced a litter of her own and they were fluffy balls of cuteness. I named one George, who turned out to be a female,…

Snapchat
I have finally joined the world of Snapchat, and after a month of exploring I think I have figured out how to take a decent selfie. Having a Selfie Stick certainly helps. lol. If you are a member of my site, or Dawn Marie’s, you have access to my #snapchat story. Please email me with the username you joined the site with and give me your SC handle. If you are not a member of either site, there is no need for you to email me asking for access. I am sorry, but I go above and beyond and there are a lot of extra member benefits when you join.

A Box Full of Surprises!
Kooster, Thank you for being such a sweetheart! I’ve already worn the dress and will wear it often; well into the fall season. It will most definitely be one of my favorites! It is casual, yet classy, with a side of sexy. The shorts will be great for cam, but will be worn at the beach. They are a bit short to be worn to the grocery store, but maybe I’ll wear them the next time I have to drive Devil and his Asian lady to poker. lol. The cover up is sexy and much better than what I normally wear, which is a tank and shorts.

Absent Online
G’morning!! There have been a lot of happenings in my world that has kept me offline for a good portion of May. We started the month in Mexico, which was an amazing experience. One that Devil keeps mentioning will become a hot spot for us. I swam with manatees and dolphins and was kissed by a sea lion! I bought a floppy hat and wore bright colors like a tourist, and was very happy about it! As soon as we landed in Austin we had to start preparing Devil for major back surgery. It ended up being much harder than we were even aware of, but after 2 weeks of…

Memorial Day History Lesson and What Today Means to Me
Here is a post that I wrote several years ago, but I think it is worth a repost. It began as Decoration Day following the Civil War in 1868, when Union veterans declared it as a time for the nation to remember the dead by placing flowers on graves. For many years the Union and Confederate soldiers remembered their fallen on different days. They soon merged, and Memorial Day became a tradition to honor all Americans who died while in military service. Volunteers place flags at each grave site in national cemeteries, but many other towns have also taken on the task of acknowledging their fallen in the same tradition.…
