Following Jenga on his Walkabouts
I was gifted with a bracelet that allows me to follow a magnificent 35 year old bull elephant around Tsavo West National Park. Jenga has an impressive tracking history, and has been collared since January 2018. Thank you, Amber, for the thoughtful gift, along with the LED lights and the hot pant shorts you also sent. I will enjoy them all, immensely.

The Walled City of North America
There is only one remaining walled city in North America, and that is in Canada. It is one of the oldest cities, which is also a port and happens to be the capital of Quebec province. Quebec: founded in 1608 by Samuel de Champlain, but the first European to discover the port was French explorer Jacques Cartier who was seeking a route to Asia, while also searching for valuable minerals, such as gold. Samuel de Champlain made it a permanent base, and it eventually became a fortified fur trading post. The location gave the French the best access to North America and control over the fur trade because it was…

Useless, Yet Entertaining Facts
In 10 minutes, a hurricane releases more energy than all the world’s nuclear weapons combined. On average, 100 people choke to death on ballpoint pens every year. I have so many questions. HOW?? WHAAA? A dentist invented the electric chair. Hmm, the chairs to resemble each other, so wow. TYPEWRITER is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard. Nutmeg is extremely poisonous if injected intravenously. YIKES! How do we know this?? Hummingbirds are the only animals that can fly backward. Salt used to be a currency. A giraffe can go longer without water than a camel can. A dragonfly has a lifespan of only…

Checking In
It’s been awhile since I’ve checked in. Truthfully, it’s been too long. I am on Twitter almost daily, update my site several times a week, but this blog tends to be left in the abyss of empty space any more. This thread is to check in with you; to see how you’re doing and to get your weather report. I’ll go first, just so it doesn’t seem one-sided. Ha! I’m doing well, and truly cannot complain. I’ve been busy, but it’s a good kind of busy. The weather is finally above freezing and we’re starting to see spring-like days. It’s still cold at night, but we’ve gone from 30 straight…

Join for 1 Month, Get Your 2nd for FREE!
This is a sale that I have never offered before, and I might not again. However, with everything going on in the world, and inflation hitting all industries and markets, I feel that it’s time to give even more than what I already have in my 17 year history of being online. For the entire month, there will be daily uploads; that’s 30 days of content being added to the site. Friday will be new releases, while all other days will be archives. In September of 2021, I chose to step away from a network based platform and become independent. In doing so, I had to start over, building a…

Happiest of Birthday Wishes to YOU!
Well fuck me sideways! First things first. I must tell you what an epic blunder this one was for me. And, you will see that I epically failed this one. You know how much I love other people’s birthday’s; I think everyone should be celebrated and acknowledged. It’s been a huge part of the blog, honoring birthday’s and making a big to-do out of them. Every. Single. Birthday. Monday night during VNALive, we were talking about… who know’s what, really. Anyway, in the midst of conversation Mikey threw it out that the 23rd was his birthday. I stopped completely, and was flabbergasted to find out that he even has a…

Florida Friend’s
When I left Texas, I left a lot behind. Some intentional, some not so much. But, a change was needed and the start of my new beginnings was full of chaos and uncertainty as to where I was heading. Long story, but it was all good change. Last year, around this time, I received a text that simply said, “Hi. This is Kristine” We were at dinner with friends and I had left my phone in the car; I didn’t see the message until 8p my time, which was 11p Florida time. To say I was over the moon excited doesn’t even cover the emotions I had that night. Kristine…

Happy Birthday to One of the Best!
Nicster, I’ve known you since the very beginning of my online venture, and you have stuck with me through all of the changes, the ups, the downs and all of the #newbeginnings. You are seriously, one of my favorites and I am so lucky to know you. I hope that today is a day of celebrations and eating cake. A lot of cake. Not just one piece, but an entire cake. THE entire cake. And, if not the whole cake, then a piece from several different cakes that could make up a whole cake.
