It is Your Anniversary of the Best Birthday, Cliff.

I am so excited we have experienced another trip around the sun with you. It is pretty damn amazing that you’ve allowed us all to celebrate you, or at least, you’ve tolerated me sending out telegrams in your honor for the last 8+ years. I hope that if you are out building kennels for your pack, the rain holds off and it is truly a beautiful day. One worthy of celebration in the name of Cliff. If it does rain, just know that I am the one wishing you buckets of happiness and cheer and rain is life! Happy anniversary to the birth of one of the greatest guys I’ve…

    Happy New Beginnings!

It is that time of year where everyone says “happy new year!”, and some even go as far as making resolutions. With the way 2020 turned out, I feel as though we should look ahead as though it is a chance at a new beginning, and in a way it really is. We all have that uncertainty ahead of us, but we are in it together and as much as you are probably tired of hear that, it really is the truth. So, allow me to wish you a very “happy new beginning!”. The holiday’s were low key for us this year, which made me happy because if you know…

    Ridiculously Weird Facts

Tomato sauce was sold in the 1800’s as medicine. Interesting A donkey will sink in quicksand, but a mule won’t. I think we need a test donkey and a test mule to verify this weird fact. Grapes light on fire in the microwave. I think someone should try this and let me know if that actually happens. I almost caught the house on fire Saturday, so I’m out. There are almost 8 million possible seven-digit phone numbers per area code. I bet MtnMan could figure the different seven digit numbers out in less than a day. Seriously. His math skills are mind boggling. Although, I am math stupid, so that…

    Snow, Snow and More Snow

We have had a very dry start to winter, with very little snow accumulation. In Early November we had a day of blizzard conditions, when there was no snow forcasted, and it gave me hope that winter was well on her way. But, that moved out almost as quickly as it blew in, and we’ve had no rain and no snow since. However, it has been freezing with below zero temps, warming up to the mid-thirties by 1p, just long enough to make it feel sweltering and then it drops back to below freezing. I do love that because I’ve never been a fan of the sun. It’s a love…

    Good News: The Owl Lives!

Early this week I shared with you our experience with the “Owl vs. Eagle”, and today I have some good news to share with you. We drove through the canyon yesterday, and checked the bush where Mtnman left the owl after his traumatic experience with the eagle. He was not there, nor were there feathers or other debris that would tell us he met a dreadful end. Nope. There was no sign of him, and this made me so happy. As we were leaving the canyon the owl flew over us, dipped his wings (a wing wave), circled back and over us again, before flying off. I choose to believe…

    Eagle vs. Owl

Sunday we were out and about, driving into a canyon in the mountains. An owl flew over head and into a crevice of a rockface, and I thought what a neat sight to see. I’ve always been fascinated by owls because Granny loved her some owls. Her house had owl clocks, figurines and nicknacks, cookie jars and plates. Like I said, she loved her owls. Here in Nevada I’ve had the chance to see a lot of owls and I am just in awe each time we come across one. We were in the canyon for probably about an hour and as we were making our way out, we saw…

    Dig Deep, Find Your Happy

Welp, the last post was a complete flop. Let’s try a different approach. Until recent years, I despised the holiday’s, but circumstances changed and now I truly do not mind them. I actually enjoy shopping for gifts for our nieces and it is always good to spend time with family over food. In my previous post I said that the best part of December was that we are getting closer to Thanksgiving, but that’s not really how I feel. I try not to wish my life away because before I know it, it will be gone. There are many things that I enjoy about December. The cold. The snow. Our…
