The Girlfriends
Devil has a bunch of girlfriends. Some are “just friends”, others are drinking buddies and a few are intimate girlfriends. I know them all and sometimes I find them in my house. lol. That Just Happened
This spring is terrible for allergies, and apparently I have them now. Ack! My voice is finally coming back, but my ears are so plugged that I hear an echo each time I talk. That’s annoying. This morning I did a few hours of yard work, which was pretty amazing, but when I was finished, my eyes were itching. I looked in the medicine cabinet for Claritin, but found Benadryl Allergy first, so without further thought, I took one. An hour later I was in the studio and took a 20 minute nap. So, that just happened. I won’t be taking those again!

Steroids = No sleep
I had a virus over the weekend and even though I feel better, it caused laryngitis, which could last for a few weeks. ACK! The doctor gave me a steroid shot, which helped almost immediately. I went from absolutely no voice to having a whisper in no time. lol. Today I am very hoarse, but it’s improving. Since I couldn’t sleep last night, I watched a lot of boring TV and dozed a few times, for about 15 minutes at a time. Ack! I hate going to the doctor’s office, but after losing my voice last night and drinking a ton of Dayquil and honey, Devil decided maybe that wasn’t enough. After sitting in the very small waiting room for 45 minutes, I finally got called back. The nurse weighed me, took my blood pressure, temperature and asked me a ton of questions. She left and a minute later the doctor was in, asking the exact same questions. Eh. Whatever. I answered them, again. Then she asked if I have allergies. Your Schedule with Update
I’ve been offline for the last three days, which wasn’t planned, and I’ll be out of town this next weekend. What that means for you, and for me, is that this is going to be a very busy week! lol. Secret Garden
When I was a kid, I watched “The Secret Garden” with Mom and fell in love with the beauty created by flowers and plants. I’ve always dreamed of having my own secret garden, but between the deer and our epic drought, it’s been slow going and a little bit frustrating. It’s taken me years to figure out what will survive both, the drought and deer. Those that the deer ate, are now covering my deck in containers and have created a very relaxing oasis. Reunited with MeBai!
MeBai was kidnapped and sold into slavery when she was three years old. She was forced into the tourism industry and worked for another three and a half years before the owners set her free. It wasn’t because they suddenly grew a heart, it was because she became too weak to perform her duties. The workers and volunteers made a 62 miles journey, by foot, to reunite her with her mom. MeBai and Mom It makes me smile to see such love and joy from elephants! I love them!

It’s Happening
There’s so much growth coming to my area that I’ve come to accept it, but it’s still disappointing. There’s a Target that’s going up west of my road, a Walmart that’s a few miles east of town and a huge church at the main intersection. That’s not to mention the Emergency Clinic and Jiffy Lube being built as we speak. I am currently hating, Jesus and his peeps, California and Sam Walton. I’ll be over it soon enough, but I miss the town I grew up hating and learned to love. Anyway, did I mention I hate Sam Walton and his entire fleet of assholes?
