    Baklava. Gone.

I am struggling to get through my day and to make matters worse, the baklava is gone! All gone! The next baklava holiday is not until July 17th, which happens to be Dawn Marie’s birthday. If you are not aware, she loves her some birthday and it is my favorite of all birthday’s!

    No-Meat-Days

Now that I am cooking for myself, and have had the job of deciding what I am going to eat each day, I have taken full advantage of red meats and pork chop dishes. Although, until recently, it was more red meat than white, I still feel like it would be beneficial to start implementing a no-meat-day, once a week.  I love salads, but I need more substance than most lettuce dishes provide. Do you have a recipe, or suggestion? I am not opposed to salads for a meal, as long as it has a meaty ingredient, such as a poblano mushroom. Now, I have never been a big fan…

    No Politics

I have an unspoken rule, but a well known one at that, which is my cam room, tweets and blog is no place for politics. I understand, and respect, that we all have a right to free speech and opinions, but important issues are not resolved on social media and in cam rooms. We as a whole are so divided that it is disheartening and there is no real solution, nor will we see one any time soon. Those who spin conversations into political arguments are hurting themselves and changing nothing.  I am not writing this to call anyone out, but I have had several replies to my tweets about…

    Tony Love

It has been a few weeks since I have had a Tony snuggle fest and while I was out on the deck just now he moseyed on over to me. I picked him up, he purred and put his paw on my neck. He is most definitely mine and I am his. I sat in a chair and we just loved each other for a few minutes and when I put him down into his own chair he followed me to the door of the studio, where he is still sitting, waiting for me to invite him in.  The love we receive from animals is a precious gift and it…

    A Bracelet with Meaning

When I first started wearing bracelets, I added a bundle of Alex and Ani bracelets to my wishlist, not knowing their true meaning of each one made. They are a company with positive vibes and good, strong energy. Each one holds a different meaning and value; some are even in memory of charities and life events. Now when I select a bracelet to be added to my wishlist, it is because I find a connection to the charm. It might sound materialistic, but I am a simple person. When I slip the elephant, butterflies and “Love You Like a Sister” bracelet on, I feel connected to those I hold close…

    Dropping the Ball

This year has been one of utter chaos, mixed in with some changes and uncertainty that has caused me to drop the ball on a lot of things. That is not an excuse, just reality, I suppose. I feel like everything is scattered and unorganized, which leaves me somewhat numb and paralyzed at times, but I have decided to take it as it comes. At any rate, without going further into the depths of darkness, how about I get on with the reason for this post.  I continue to receive surprises in the mail from so many of you that I am left speechless and very appreciative of your kindness.…

    A Good Reason to Smile

I walked outside to a cool, crisp breeze, and the sound of wind chimes clinking about. I looked over at Nelson’s garden to find Garfield happily laying about, taking in the morning sun and birds chirping around him. That is reason to smile and for that, I am happy. It is good to find happy in nature and animals. So much cuteness and beauty, all in one place, and right in front of you.

    Nelson’s Garden

Nelson’s garden has been a project in the works for a couple years now. I started with a slope that dropped 2 feet in just a small area, but it was perfect for a serene sitting area, especially in the morning. We built a slab, tiled it and then I started building a rock wall to create a garden scape. Nelson helped and walked on each rock that was in place, and if it wobbled, I’d fix it. We did this for several weeks until it was finished and ready for dirt. We lost Nelson right after the rock wall was finished and before I finished adding dirt. It took…
