Didn’t We Learn the First Time?

How does the saying go? To make the same mistake over is proof you are stupid? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, I’m an idiot? lol.

Exxxotica has chosen to have a repeat of last year in Dallas. It didn’t go too well, as I recall, nor was it a successful one for those who sell merchandise and selfies with fans. For me, it was one of the most successful shows I have participated in because I networked and had a list of companies I wanted to connect with.

The city of Dallas protested the convention, even though it was discrete and it was kept within a conference hall. Those who claim to love others were spewing hate and venom, and it was a huge uproar within the city council.

This year Exxxotica is going back to Dallas, supposedly in May, but it is pending because Dallas is really fighting it this time around. In fact, I just received an email to advise me that Exxxotica has filled an injunction against the city of Dallas. The entire fight seems asinine to me. First off, why spend so much effort and money fighting a city who protested porn the first time, and over all effected the success of the show? Second of all, why advertise that you will be in Dallas when it is pending. No smart business can make plans for that show, without a set calendar of events, or else it is last minute prep and wasted money.

Finally, Austin has become a destination city with direct flights from all over the country. It is accessible, cosmopolitan, accepting and would be a huge success. There would be people of all walks of life attending the shows, whether out of curiosity or interest, it would be beneficial.

It makes me wonder if the Exxxotica group is fighting out of spiteful pride. As a business point of view, it seems ridiculous. But whatever.

For those who keep asking if I will be there, I will not. Dallas is not a smart city for the porn industry and I don’t care to witness the hate again.
