Have You Heard??

I’m always open to suggestions and/or ideas, and this one came in from Detroit. So, here it goes..

I’m going to list 3 bands/songs and you tell me whether you’ve heard of them, or not. If you have not, give it a listen and tell us what you think.

In turn, you list 3 bands/songs and so on..

John Williamson – True Blue : if you join me on Monday’s you will recognize his voice.

Ruth B. – Lost Boy : MtnMan suggested her many, many years ago, and I just absolutely love her voice.

Audra Mae & the Almighty Sound – The Real Thing : I accidentally stumbled across her about 7 years ago.

I like Ruth B & Audra Mae, listened to 3 or 4 of each of their songs.
John Williamson I’ll have to listen to more.

Greta Van Fleet – When the Curtain Falls : Let’s go back to the rock we grew up with in the way of Led Zeppelin

Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats – S.O.B. : Now you’ll have your toes tapping and leg slappin

Of Monsters and Men – Little Talks : I just like these guys

I love Greta Van Fleet, although I just realized I don’t have her on any of my playlists. I had not heard “When the Curtain Falls” until this afternoon. I love her soul.

I like the bluesy tunes from Nathaniel Rateliff, and admit I have never listened to their music until today. Thank you for sharing. I’ll definitely give them more of a listen, as long as they don’t venture too far down the road of gospel. lol.

Of Monsters and Men have a beautiful sound. I don’t believe I’ve listened to them prior to your suggestion. I’ll be playing their station on cam tonight.

Greta Van Fleet is an American rock band from Frankenmuth, Michigan, formed in 2012. It consists of the Kiszka brothers: twins Josh and Jake, Sam, and Danny Wagner.

SORRY not a “her” – The band name was created when Hauck heard a relative mention Gretna Van Fleet, a resident of Frankenmuth; their use of the variation on her name was done with her (subsequent) blessing.

Do you have any other suggestions for me? I like your style in music.

Ha! So I was not wrong in referring to the boy band as a her! Someone a few years back turned me on to Greta Van Fleet, but I always slip back to the old rock classics and I had actually forgotten about them until this post. So thank you for that!

I am sure you are familiar with Jewel. I find her voice to be incredible and love all of her music. She has so much soul. My favorite – You Were Meant For Me

Alison Krauss – When You Say Nothing At All

Passenger – Let Her Go – the heart in his voice is beautiful.

(I apologize for my late replay)

Yes I have heard of Jewel, not necessarily on my playlist(sorry).

Love Alison Krauss, and with Robert Plant their even better – Please Read the Letter & Gone Gone Gone are great.

And YES Passenger – Let Her Go, love this song.

TRY – Elbow – “Gounds for Divorce” I love this song, different.
Calexico – “Crystal Frontier” Love the Mexican vibe of this one.
ZZ Ward – “Put the Gun Down” Another one I just love.
