    Jumping Fish

So, a guy was fishing and had a bucket of fish. The warden came by and saw how many he had, and told the man he was going to fine him for having so many fish! The man said, “oh, these are my fish, I dump them out and shortly they jump back in the bucket.” The warden said, “This I gotta see… show me and I won’t give you a fine”, so the man dumped out the fish into the river. After a while the warden asked, “so… where’s the fish?” The man looked blankly at the warden and said, “What fish?”

It is the 21st Day of the 21st Year of the 21st Century.

Whoa! I just realized this and now I am just fascinated by it. How is this not trending? This is historical stuff, being the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st Century! And, tonight at 9:21p it will be 21 hours and 21 minutes of the 21st ay of the 21st year of the 21st Century. This is badass! What’s even better? Cliff’s birthday is today, which is the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st Century. Today is a damn good day for a birthday!

It is Your Anniversary of the Best Birthday, Cliff.

I am so excited we have experienced another trip around the sun with you. It is pretty damn amazing that you’ve allowed us all to celebrate you, or at least, you’ve tolerated me sending out telegrams in your honor for the last 8+ years. I hope that if you are out building kennels for your pack, the rain holds off and it is truly a beautiful day. One worthy of celebration in the name of Cliff. If it does rain, just know that I am the one wishing you buckets of happiness and cheer and rain is life! Happy anniversary to the birth of one of the greatest guys I’ve…

    Ridiculously Weird Facts

Tomato sauce was sold in the 1800’s as medicine. Interesting A donkey will sink in quicksand, but a mule won’t. I think we need a test donkey and a test mule to verify this weird fact. Grapes light on fire in the microwave. I think someone should try this and let me know if that actually happens. I almost caught the house on fire Saturday, so I’m out. There are almost 8 million possible seven-digit phone numbers per area code. I bet MtnMan could figure the different seven digit numbers out in less than a day. Seriously. His math skills are mind boggling. Although, I am math stupid, so that…

    Good News: The Owl Lives!

Early this week I shared with you our experience with the “Owl vs. Eagle”, and today I have some good news to share with you. We drove through the canyon yesterday, and checked the bush where Mtnman left the owl after his traumatic experience with the eagle. He was not there, nor were there feathers or other debris that would tell us he met a dreadful end. Nope. There was no sign of him, and this made me so happy. As we were leaving the canyon the owl flew over us, dipped his wings (a wing wave), circled back and over us again, before flying off. I choose to believe…

    Eagle vs. Owl

Sunday we were out and about, driving into a canyon in the mountains. An owl flew over head and into a crevice of a rockface, and I thought what a neat sight to see. I’ve always been fascinated by owls because Granny loved her some owls. Her house had owl clocks, figurines and nicknacks, cookie jars and plates. Like I said, she loved her owls. Here in Nevada I’ve had the chance to see a lot of owls and I am just in awe each time we come across one. We were in the canyon for probably about an hour and as we were making our way out, we saw…

    Dig Deep, Find Your Happy

Welp, the last post was a complete flop. Let’s try a different approach. Until recent years, I despised the holiday’s, but circumstances changed and now I truly do not mind them. I actually enjoy shopping for gifts for our nieces and it is always good to spend time with family over food. In my previous post I said that the best part of December was that we are getting closer to Thanksgiving, but that’s not really how I feel. I try not to wish my life away because before I know it, it will be gone. There are many things that I enjoy about December. The cold. The snow. Our…

    Ornery Abby

Abby has become quirky over the last few months, often saving her breakfast for dinner. She will look at her food, sniff it and walk away, and for the longest time it would worry me. I googled it, talked to the vet, had tests run and she is a healthy, happy golden. There is no reason she has stopped eating breakfast with the gusto we came to adore. None. To get her excited about eating (and mostly to stop me from worrying she was going to starve to death), MtnMan started playing a game with her. One that she looks forward to each morning now. She sees me getting her…

    What I am Thankful For

I had planned to blog daily this month, sharing with you what I am most thankful for. As you can see, I was an epic failure in that regard, seeing as though I have only posted a couple threads and here we are, two days away from Thanksgiving. Yes! Two days! Oh my, how I love this time of year. More specifically, this month, this week and the day of the turkey. The day that I eat one slice of turkey because it is one tradition I cannot seem to break away from. Traditions. They are good to cherish and to hold on to. Some are worth tossing, while others…
