    My Daily Thanks

Today I am thankful for all of this rain that we continue to be showered with in Texas. As a life long Texan, begrudgingly so, I have experienced many weather extremes, but the worst would be our most recent drought. It was, by far, the worst Texas has experienced and surpassed the record drought of the ’50’s. That drought put in place all of the reservoirs and lakes that were built in order to survive another and it was the first time that plan was tested. Most of the lakes and all of the reservoirs were dry, and all of Texas looked ominous and resembled the desert plains of west…

    Halloween Says Hello November!

I am not a huge fan of Halloween, although, I do understand the fun in it, if you are 6 years old. lol. I admire those who get excited to dress in costume, but it has never been my desire. However, today means that Thanksgiving is in a few weeks and that is reason enough for me to be excited about halloween! Halloween says hello November!

The World Series 2016: DM vs. DW

The 2016 World Series is going to be historical. You have Dawn Marie rooting on the Cubbies, who hope to break their 108 year losing streak and Dwwindsor on the other side hoping his Indians can pull off the big win after a 68 year drought. The Cubs have the curse of the Billy Goat, but seriously, was it Murphy, the goat, who was kicked out of the last World Series they have been in, or just that they had insufficient players? Hmmm. The Red Sox was cursed by Babe Ruth, so maybe Murphy did put a curse on the Cubbies. At any rate, I would say the curse has…

    This Week at a Glance:

This week is going to hopefully be less chaotic than most, but that is most likely a pipe dream. This much I do know, tomorrow I will be at the Elle King concert in Austin at Stubbs, which is surprisingly exciting for me. I am not a big LIVE music fan, truth be told. I could honestly do without. The sound is too loud, I cannot hear one word that is being screamed into the mic, the people are obnoxious and I really do not want to stand for every song except for three. However, my opinions are my own and most do not share in my distaste of LIVE…

    Texas Cold Front

For several days now everyone has been talking about a “cold front” that will be blowing through Texas this week and I just had to laugh each time. It has been in the 90’s again and a cold front did not seem likely, but cooler temps were definitely desired. This morning I woke up to wind beating the house and fall-like weather. In other words, it is not 90 degrees, there is an ominous cast with leaves blowing about and Tyson barking because mother nature is yelling at him. Days with a dreary spirit and clean air make me happy. If this is the Texas cold front the weatherman has…

    You All

Do you know what annoys me more than the misuse of the word “y’all”? It is when someone who is so adamant about verbally correcting people on their grammar, in front of others, but cannot write a correct sentence and does not know where the goddamn apostrophe goes in a word they choose to use. A made up word, mind you! It is not a proper form of english, and if you are going to go out of your way to publicly correct someone as though you are superior, then you should goddamn know where to place the comma, apostrophe, and how to use a fucking semi-colon. The apostrophe goes…

    Kiz-mit, -met, kis-

This post is for Dwwindsor, and for anyone else who reads my blog. lol. Kismet [kiz-mit, -met, kis-] noun 1. fate; destiny.   It is in the dictionary and that makes kismet a real, factual existence of a word. Yeah, just don’t think about what I just typed. Here is what I know: sometimes things happen in life and they are just meant to be. Such as you residing in Ohio, which is perfect. It would not be Perfect Ohio if you were not there, and you would not be there if you were in New Jersey. Making Ohio nothing more than the Buckeye state. Yes? Okay then, it is kismet. You…

    More Happy Thoughts

I love the smell of horses and the sound of roosters crowing while enjoying a nice breeze on a fall day. I enjoy finding waterfalls at the most unexpected places and the sound of water hitting rocks that have been molded into different shapes over the years from erosion and nature. A happy hour with good friends, on the deck, while we watch butterflies and hummingbirds suckle on bushes and vines. The smell of perfume and the sound of a crackling fire while roasting marshmallows and laughing well into the early morning. Happiness is stargazing in a sleeping bag and waking up to a beautiful day, while enjoying coffee brewed…
