That’s Wrong, Y’all…

While in Missouri, we stayed with our friends buddy, who turned out to be an amazing host. He was laid back, no pressure and very accommodating, no matter what we were doing. He introduced us to several of his local friends, one of which is an airbrush artist on the strip. He’s been smoking hash for decades, so he is on a much slower plain than most people, but a good ol’ boy just making a living doing what he loves.

Our host took us to the strip on our last day, so we stopped by the t-shirt shop and while I was talking to him his book-of-tricks was open to a picture that said- “Fuck Ya’ll I’m from Texas!” Without thinking, I said- “that’s incorrect. The apostrophe should be right after the ‘y’ because it is you all” His response was of disappointment because he made the book over 10 years ago and he’s sold a lot of shirts with that picture on it. LOL. Oops. I wouldn’t worry about it. Those who bought that sure ought to be ashamed they don’t know where the apostrophe goes when they obviously use the word in their vocabulary. (I didn’t have the heart to tell him he was also missing a comma.)

I wonder if he’ll remember the next time he fills an order with the word “y’all”.
